December 8th in Baha'i History

1939-Margaret Lentz a German Bahai arrives in the Dominican Republic – the first Bahai to settle there.

1953-Loretta & Carl Scherer from Milwaukee, WI arrive in Macau, named Knights of Baha’u’llah

1954-Bahais in Adharbayjan are dismissed from their jobs in the Ministries of Health and Public Highways

1988-Plenary Session of the UN adopts a resolution concerning Human Rights in Iran specifically mentioning the suffering of the Bahais

1990-The first All-Union Bahai Consultative Conference is held in Moscow.

1993-In Iran, death sentences were pronounced against 2 Bahai’s on the grounds of their membership in the Bahai Community
