May 28th in Baha'i History

1912- Abdul-Baha in America

28 May 1912 Talk at Reception at Metropolitan Temple Seventh Avenue and Fourteenth Street, New York

Today He moved from the house facing the Hudson River to Mrs Kinney's home. He had instructed us to rent a house for Him because the owner of the apartment hotel considered that the movement of so many diverse people was unusual and felt that the additional work and difficulty [for the staff] was too much. There had been so many people visiting from morning to night that the hotel management had been obliged to respond to incessant inquiries. However, when the staff saw the Master's great kindness as He left the hotel they became ashamed of their conduct and begged Him to stay longer, but He did not accept. (Mahmud's Diary)

1975 - Bahá'ís must cling firmly to the knowledge that the Cause is safely in God's hands

The Bahá'ís must cling firmly to the knowledge that the Cause is safely in God's hands, that the Covenant of Bahá'u'lláh is incorruptible and that they can have complete confidence in the ability of the Universal House of Justice to function "under the care and protection of the Abha Beauty, under the shelter and unerring guidance of His Holiness, the Exalted One"....
(28 May 1975, from a letter written on behalf of the Universal House of Justice to an individual believer)  (Compilations, The Compilation of Compilations vol. I, p. 127)
